INTRODUCTION Responses to this RFI may be used to formulate final requirements and/or to identify qualified vendors capable of meeting those requirements. The description below outlines preliminary requirements envisioned for Gunsmith Services. The information gathered may be used to formulate acquisition strategies for competitive solicitations. The purpose of this RFI is for interested vendors to review the preliminary SOW, express interest, ask questions and to provide feedback before a final SOW and formal acquisition process begins. BACKGROUND The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Training Division (TD), Defensive Systems Unit (DSU) requires services to assist in repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, refinishing, machining, inventory, and securing of FBI Agent issued weapons, FBI approved Personally Owned Weapons (POW), Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) / Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) / Special Operations Unit (SOU) weapons and special project efforts to include other weapon sets. CONTEMPLATED REQUIREMENT The Contractor will provide gun smith services to the DSU. The gun smith services include repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, inventory, refinishing, machining, and securing of FBI Agent issued weapons, FBI approved POW, HRT/CIRG/SOU weapons, and special project efforts to include other weapon sets.� Please see attached Statement of Work for more details on the requirement. Should a request for proposal be released the contemplated contract is for an Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Firm Fixed Price Contract. CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS This RFI is open to all businesses (both large and small) for market research only to request input from potential providers of gunsmith services. The Government would like to know which firms can provide the gunsmith services for this contemplated requirement by identifying themselves and responding to this RFI. The Government requests the following information: Company name and business size. Provide evidence to show that your company can provide the requested services and/or products required (i.e. technical ability, personnel, and experience). Information provided shall be succinct and related to the requested information in this RFI. All submissions shall be unclassified. Address whether your company has a GSA Schedule and if they are capable of providing these services on schedule. If able to provide the services on schedule, provide the schedule and SIN. Any other assumptions, comments, concerns, and/or questions relating to the contemplated services. Do submit succinct, thoughtful responses to the requirements/questions listed in this RFI. Do submit comments that address the FBI's requirements, assumptions, conditions or contemplated approaches to this future acquisition. Do submit information and suggestions that may encourage new, different, or innovative approaches that would result in products, solutions, and direct savings to the FBI. Evidence to show the company can provide the requested services (i.e., technical ability, personnel, and experience).� Information provided shall be succinct and related to the requested information in this RFI.� All submissions shall be unclassified. Past performance information that exhibits the ability to perform services outlined in the SOW, including previous work history with the Government, specifically any work history with the FBI. Input or recommendations on the contract type that would encourage competition. Input on the NAICs. Any other assumptions, comments, concerns, and/or questions relating to the contemplated services. WHAT SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN YOUR RESPONSE Do not submit proposals or offers. Do not submit past performance information or general descriptions of corporate experience. Do not submit requests to be considered for award or to be notified of a future solicitation. Do not submit requests to be added to a mailing list or distribution list. Do not submit questions or comments not related to this RFI. Do not respond via telephone. RFI SUBMITTAL INSTRUCTIONS: Responses are limited to fifteen (15) pages. The electronic documents should be accessible in Adobe Acrobat (PDF format) or MS Word 2013 or newer.� Print settings must be established so that each page prints on 8 � by 11 paper.� The text size shall be Times New Roman in font size no less than 11 point.
