The south side of the building has extensive glasste, and there is an open 2-story space in the building. This facility is closed to the public in the winter. There are secure areas in the building containing archives, collections, and evidence storage. The goal of this project is to resolve temperature issues in the visitor centers offices, restrooms, hallways, conference room and additional spaces, and to have an HVAC system that meets the visitor centers existing and future needs. The current HVAC issues are due to deficiencies with zoning, lack of ventilation, and the existing concrete Trombe wall that was constructed without thermal breaks, thus transmits cold temperatures in the winter. The project will update these items, improve HVAC performance throughout the building, improve certain electrical items, and renew the HVAC equipment for another life cycle. Replacing the HVAC throughout the Visitors Center of Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
