Finally, the quote submission date has been changed to March 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM Atlantic Standard Time (AST). There are no more changes to this solicitation. Questions made in response to RFQ no. 36C24823Q0294 and their answers: 1- Question: Before performing the cleaning of the Exhaust Hoods and Ductwork, who will be the responsible for turning the facility s sprinkler system on and off ? Answer: Up until this point, a shutdown of the facility s sprinkler system has not been needed to perform the exhaust hoods and ductwork cleaning process. Contractors have been able to safely perform these services in the past, without impacting any of the sprinkler heads in the exhaust hoods area. 2- Question: Where will the Contractor s tools and equipment be cleaned, after the completion of each service? Answer: There is a cart cleaning area in the VACHS main facility loading dock which the Contractor may use. However, the wastewater generated from such cleaning operations must comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the discarding of such. 3- Question: Can the waste and debris generated in these cleaning services be disposed using the Government s waste dumpsters? Answer: The Contractor shall remove waste generated in the performance of this contract from the VACHS premises and discard it in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to the disposal of such waste. 4- Question: When was the last time these systems were clean as detailed on the solicitation s PWS? The importance of this question is to determinate existing conditions of the exhaust hoods and ductwork. Answer: The last time the VACHS kitchen exhaust hoods were cleaned was February, 2023. As for the ductwork, even though a portion was cleaned during summer of last year, it has been a few years since it was cleaned entirely. 5- Question: Can the water and degreaser from cleaning the ductwork from the exhaust fans down to the hood be drained on drums? Answer: As previously stated, the Contractor shall remove all waste generated in the rendering of these services from the VACHS premises, and properly dispose of it. 6- Question: What area will be designated to clean the exhaust hoods filters? Answer: The VACHS cart cleaning area can be used, as previously mentioned, so long as the wastewater generated in such cleaning complies with any applicable state or federal regulations. 7- Question: Will there be Lockout-Tagout personnel from VA be present at all times? Answer: VACHS Lockout-Tagout personnel will be available, upon request.
