THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE � THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT�S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD FOLLOW-ON CONTRACT TO SCIENCE APPLICATIONS INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO SUPPORT THE DOD OGC MISSION The Department of Defense (DOD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B) �Only one source is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services are unique or highly specialized.� WHS/AD intends to issue a follow-on award to continue services performed under the current contract, HQ003417F0416 to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), 12010 Sunset Hills Road, Reston, Virginia, 20190. The current contract period of performance expires February 28, 2023. The Government is considering a 3-month contract. We anticipate awarding a follow-on award to SAIC to provide required services to support the DoD OGC mission to comply with judicial orders issued by federal courts and military commissions as well as other orders and directives issued by competent authorities regarding the handling of various materials related to detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, or any successor location. Failure to issue a follow-on award as a bridge contract would result in compromise of national security information, senior government officials being held in contempt of court, and/or delays in court proceedings. The Government intends to procure these services through a competitive acquisition with a longer Period of Performance at the conclusion of this bridge contract. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely to determine whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541690, Other Scientific and Technical Consulting Services, Small Business Size Standard of $19,000,000.00 annual sales.
