- Description
- This contract continues the work of a consortium of legal, child welfare and lived experience experts that developed a system of judicial, court, and attorney performance measures to assess how children and families are served by the legal system. The contract has three key related requirements: 1) Establish a team of experts to provide technical assistance, implementation support, conduct evaluations, and provide technical assistance and 2) establish and support a cohort of states[1] and eligible tribes who will use pass through funding for data collection and analysis and to implementation of strategies for of child welfare court performance improvement. This contract will support strategies to improve legal practice utilizing the Judicial, Court and Attorney Measures of Performance (JCAMP) metrics to evaluate practice change and outcomes in five areas:� family engagement, due process, high quality legal representation, child safety and permanency. �The end deliverables will include publications highlighting successes and barriers in implementing these model measures of legal and judicial practice, data that will be used for program improvement by the states and tribes, and additions to the knowledge base around effectiveness of particular legal and judicial strategies.� [1] For brevity, �states� here is meant to include jurisdictions eligible under the Court Improvement Program, i.e. states, territories, the District of Columbia, and insular areas that are eligible for funding under section 438 of the Social Security Act. 42 U.S.C. 629h.
