- SBA Total Small Business Set-Aside (FAR 19.5)
- Description
- The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), Office on Womens Health (OWH) wants to identify viable small businesses that are capable of fulfilling the objectives of this requirement. This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; servicedisabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice. OWH seeks to understand and address disparities among women's health outcomes and research into health trends that uniquely or especially affect women and, in particular, aging women. To better quantify and understand the disparities, OWH is partnering with OSM and CDC to lead a study to estimate the number of preventable deaths among women from the leading causes of death, by race/ethnicity and geography (rural-urban county category and state). The results of this collaboration will inform a targeted social and behavior change communication strategy to increase knowledge, shift attitudes, norms, and cultural practices with an aim to reduce risk behaviors and improve health seeking behaviors among women who are disproportionately dying from preventable causes. See attachment for additional information in relation to this sources sought.
