Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION The Government is issuing this Request for Information to determine a competitive basis for the procurement described. This is not a solicitation. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this survey. This survey is for market research purposes only. Only contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information. Requirement The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Nashville District, anticipates a requirement for a firm fixed-price construction contract for Loyall Ponding Phase 2, in Loyall, Kentucky. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The scope of this requirement consists of constructing a bench along the residential shoreline (left bank) of the ponding area to help facilitate maintenance and debris clean-up as well as install an aeration system in the ponding area. The bench will be constructed out of shotrock, leftover material from the previous project, Loyall Slide, and Dense Grade Aggregate (DGA). The bench is approximately 50-ft wide, and the top of the bench is at approximately 1145 ft elevation. The bench will tie into the downstream causeway built in Phase 1 and end on the north side of the Wilkerson Street bridge as a cul-de-sac which gives maintenance traffic the ability to turn around. There are four (4) utility lines that will be crossed and a crossing design has been agreed upon with the utility owners. A chain link fence will be installed on the downstream end to protect the Loyall residents from easy access to their properties once the bench is installed. Finally, an aeration system will be installed to increase the dissolved oxygen levels in the pond and increase the flow of water. The aeration system will consist of a bubble curtain system and two aeration compressors will be needed in order to aerate the upstream and downstream portions of the pond. Survey The Government is issuing this notice to determine a competitive basis. This is not a solicitation and the items listed herein are subject to change or eliminated from the requirement. This survey is for market research purposes only. Only Contractors capable of performing this type of work should respond to this Request for Information.
