- This is a source sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (hubzone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, small veteran owned business or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NACIS 336212 (size standard of 1,000 employees). Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the SAM.gov website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this sources sought announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office NCO22, is seeking sources for vendors to purchase MOBILE EYE UNIT for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System. The anticipated award date shall be 2/15/23. If you are interested and are capable of providing the required services please provide the requested information as indicated below. Response to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, size of business pursuant to the following questions: (1) Is your business small (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business, or small disadvantaged business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and if your firm is certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified Hubzone firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, (7) Is your firm a Veteran Owned Small Business? Small businesses considering participation in this potential solicitation process under any Small Business Set-aside procedure must do so in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Small Business Act. Responses to this notice shall be e-mailed to Adriana.garcia@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 10:00 AM 2/2/23. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Salient Characteristics: Mobile Eye Unit Salient Characteristics To be able to accommodate a Low Vision exam room Minimum of 10 feet from the foot of the exam chair to the mounted eye chart Width should accommodate space for storage (minimum 4 sq ft) of low vision assessment equipment and devices for demonstration Exam chair should have space behind (minimum of 2 feet) for glider to accommodate patients who need wheelchair access Space for examiner work station (minimum 2x3 feet), including laptop and writing desktop space Space (one chair, 2x2 feet) for one other accompanying person (e.g. caregiver, family member, significant other, etc) To be able to accommodate a Primary Care exam room / tele-retinal screening: Minimum of 6 feet from the foot of the exam chair to the mounted eye chart Space to accommodate Topcon fundus camera (minimum 1.5x2 feet) for tele-retinal screening Space for examiner work station (minimum 2x3 feet), including laptop and writing desktop space To be able to accommodate Optical Optician workstation to store optical supplies for repairing and adjusting eyeglass frames (minimum 4 sq ft) Storage of frames and optical tools/supplies (included in work station) Seating for Optician and two others (e.g. patient and their caregiver), two chairs or one bench (minimum 4x2 feet) Space for check-in station (minimum 2x3 feet), including laptop and writing desktop space The current 38 feet van/vehicle is able to accommodate the three designated areas above in a floorplan that would facilitate patient flow and clinician utilization
