- Description
- The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for the production of one or more types of Pneumatic Start Carts (also known as bleed air, or air start) to conduct ground servicing tasks on one or more types of United States Air Force aircraft. A Pneumatic Start Cart is required to conduct tasks such as: Starting aircraft auxiliary power units Starting aircraft engines Powering environmental control systems Pressurization checks of seals and tests for leaks Projected requirements that can be considered for the Pneumatic Start Cart can be identified in the draft PD and SOW attachments for this SSS. The objectives discussed within this survey and the attached PD and SOW are not to be considered the final requirement for a Pneumatic Start Cart for use by the Air Force in AGE servicing tasks. Responses to this survey will be utilized to capture technological trends, and updates to technology developed in the market. This survey is intended to identify manufacturers who have experience with AGE servicing tasks using a Pneumatic Start Cart, and to obtain information on products capable of producing a pneumatic supply for AGE related servicing tasks of one or more types of US Air Force aircraft. This survey seeks to identify potential solutions that are either presently in the market or will be available within the next 12 months. An analysis of alternatives may be conducted to determine tradeoffs between various solutions. It is possible acquiring more than one type of Pneumatic Start Cart is in the best interest of the US Air Force. Additionally, responses may be utilized to identify sources for participation in Industry Days to further develop knowledge of this market. Items that perform to characteristics outlined in this survey will also be considered as potential solutions.
