Description
1.1. Description of Services/Introduction: The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to perform inspection, maintenance and service on all four (4) Telescoping Mast Service Platforms (TMSP). The purpose of this contract is to ensure the TMSPs are in fully operational status and certified annually for use through Contractor-provided servicing, inspection, certification and repairs from normal, fair, wear and tear in accordance with the manufacturers manual. The TMSPs are essential to the mission because they are designed to provide access to the C-17 aircraft by personnel to conduct maintenance and corrosion control tasks as defined in this Performance Work Statement (PWS), Section 5, except for those items specified as Government-furnished items and services. The Contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract. 1.2 Description of system: This system consists of four Telescoping Mast Service Platforms specifically designed for maintenance (corrosion control/washing down) of the C-17 aircraft. The system was installed in July 2000. The system includes two low bay platforms, one high bay platform, and one nose platform. Each of the platforms is supported by a mast (dual masts on the high bay platform) which is connected to a carrier frame. The carrier rides on two runway beams, which allow the carrier frame to move east or west parallel to hangar center on the low bay and nose platforms and north or south of hangar center on the high bay platform. The runway tracks are supported by the bottom cord of the building trusses. In addition, each carrier frame contains a maintenance walkway which provides access to electrical control panels, disconnects, and the carrier frame drive system. Each platform is raised and lowered by electrical /mechanical drive and a redundant wire rope system. The high bay platform (platform# 3) has a 56'-9"" vertical travel and is designed to service the tail section of the aircraft. It is supported by an 18' wide x 68' long carrier frame. The low bay platforms (platforms# 1&2) provide 25'-6"" of vertical travel and are designed to service the fuselage of the aircraft. The low bay platforms are supported by a single mast which is attached to a trolley system. The trolley is supported by a carrier frame, which is 12' wide x 55' long. The carrier frame allows the platform to travel parallel to hangar center to provide total platform coverage of 94'-5"". The trolley system allows the platform to travel in the north or south direction. Each trolley contains a turntable that enables the low bay platform to rotate a full 360 degrees. Special Instructions: Please fill out the Letter of Attestation then sign and return in PDF format.
