- This notice is prepared in accordance with FAR 5.207 and is not a request for quote (RFQ). This is a notice of the Government's intent to award one (1) purchase order with firm-fixed prices to EdgeTech, LLC, 4 Little Brook Rd, West Wareham, MA 20576 on a sole source basis for the purchase of new acoustic release and parts to repair and maintain the support of the Tropic Atmosphere Ocean (TAO) Local Warnings and Forecast and Tsunami Warning Network of the National Data Buoy Center (NBDC), National Weather Service (NWS). Model: 0002866 8242XS Acoustic release Includes: ON/OFF Switch (p/n: 0003103) Welded Alkaline Battery Pack Status reply to indicate tilt and release state The 8242XS Acoustic Release Transponder and components are commercial items in accordance with FAR 2.101 and are used by the NDBC to get back TAO ocean temperature, salinity, current sensors deployed at depth (below the ocean surface) on an NDBC mooring or the tsunami detection equipment deployed on the bottom of the ocean floor. Interested parties are advised that the minimum qualifying standards for technical acceptability are as follows: Depth Rating: 6,000m Release Load: 5,000kg Release Mechanism: Mechanical Weight in Air: 180dB Command Codes, Interrogate Frequency, and Reply Frequency: Must be able to use current inventory of 8011Mdeck sets for communication/control protocols and commands. Operating Temperature: -10 to +40 C. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Evidence must be provided of ability to provide the requirement. A capability statement and any other information furnished must be in writing, and must contain material in suff icient detail to allow NOAA to determine if the party can meet all of the foregoing requirements.
