- Introduction. The intent of this RFI is to request Industry white papers for a capability to store and secure aircrew gear and tools.� During deployment, H-1 aircrews must carry gear such as clothing, food, and other personal essentials.� Aircrews must also carry small mission essential tools.� The purpose of this RFI is to: 1). Request industry provide a white paper to describe existing capabilities to satisfy the ability for AH-1Z aircrews to store and secure gear and tools. Government Requirements / Limitations. The requirements or limitations for this capability are as follows: System must have no to minimal impact to aircraft center of gravity. Aft center of gravity shifts are unacceptable. System must have no to minimal impact to the structure of the aircraft. System must not degrade current aircraft capabilities (i.e. weapon stations, weapon range of motion, sensors, communications, etc.) System must be removable and replaceable in the field by two able bodied Marines using common hand tools. If considering an aircraft belly mounted system, the system must be detachable via skid struts within 30 minutes in order to facilitate fuel sample port access. System desire is light weight. System must include easy access for aircrew to retrieve gear and tools while mounted on aircraft. System must have Bill of Material (BOM) available to the Government. System must have a Technical Data Package (TDP) available to the Government. System must use common hardware. System desire is to be able to repair and be maintained at the Organizational Level (O-Level). If considering an aircraft belly mounted system, the system must be no more than 52 inches wide and 77 inches long (Width of AH-1Z belly). If considering an aircraft belly mounted system, the system must be no more than 22 inches in height. (distance between belly of AH-1Z and top of skids). If considering an aircraft belly mounted system, the system must mount in a way to provide a minimum of one (1) inch clearance from the aircraft belly to prevent obstruction of the aircraft drain lines. RFI Respondent Instructions. Respondents are requested to provide a maximum of a two (2) page (front and back is acceptable) white paper using 8-10 size font in the Microsoft 2016 or Adobe pdf format.� Existing brochures of the system are acceptable in addition to the white paper. White papers shall include the following information and answer the questions below, if available: Provide high-level summary description of the system. Is the system in production today? If the system is not in production, how long has it been since it was in production? Are other Government Agencies using the system today? Is a technical data package for the system available to the Government? Is a Bill of Material (BOM) available to the Government? If other Government Agencies are using the system today, please provide the agency name, contract number, point of contact name, telephone number and electronic mail address. Provide the specifications of the system to include: Dimensions (graphical pictures are desired), System weight, System capacity description, Systems� ability to eliminate corrosion. Mounting or securing mechanism description, Existing Certifications of the system and by whom, Description of the installation requirements, Description of the time required for installation, Description of the system removal, Description of the time required for system removal, Have manuals, installation instruction and training materials been developed and validated for the system? Description of material used for manufacturing the system. Provide a range of cost for one production unit. Provide a copy of the approval of certification, if available. Provide company designation (small business; large business; 8A, etc.) Provide the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code or Product Service Code (PSC). Provide other potential solutions as desired. Proprietary information included in responses should be clearly marked. No classified documents shall be included in your response. Be advised all information submitted in response to the RFI becomes the property of the US Government (except properly marked proprietary information) and will not be returned. Multiple responses from different technology areas within a single respondent�s organization will be acceptable. US Government support contractors will assist in the review of any data provided by respondents to this RFI. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) has been signed by the support contractors with the U.S. Government that precludes them from disclosing any data outside of the U.S. Government. Accordingly, respondents are asked to provide concurrence in their submissions that the data submitted may be reviewed by U.S. Government Support Contractors. U.S. Government and Support Contractor personnel will handle all information as procurement sensitive information subject to the protections, restrictions and requirements set forth in FAR 3.104. The U.S. Government requires one (1) electronic copy of the RFI response. The electronic copy of your response must be in Microsoft Office 2016 or Adobe Acrobat XI readable formats. Please provide your firm/company�s name and address, point of contact with telephone number and e-mail address. Responses should be submitted to the address below no later than 1600 EST 19 January 2023 for Sections 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. Any questions on this RFI must be directed to Jeanette Moronta, Procurement Contracting Officer (PCO), via email at jeanette.p.moronta.civ@us.navy.mil or to the address below, no later than 10 days after the RFI announcement. No questions will be accepted telephonically nor will any responses to questions be provided telephonically.� Questions and answers will be posted within 5 days of submission.� The Government reserves the right to edit and consolidate questions as necessary prior to posting to Beta.SAM.
