Description

In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA�s decision to contract on a single source basis to International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). The FAA has a requirement for the renewal of IBM�s Weather Data Subscription. This procurement will provide the FAA with a data exchange system for supporting the management and monitoring of national air traffic flow. The Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS) ingests IBM�s weather data and is critical to the operation of the system. �IBM is the sole source provider for this specific weather data subscription that has been configured to satisfy the FAA�s requirements and is proprietary and only available from IBM.� This announcement is for informational purposes only. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement.
