- THIS IS A NOTICE of INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE BRAND NAME EQUIPMENT FOR AN UPCOMING MILITARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A FORMAL SOLICITATION. Notice of Intent to Sole Source Brand Name. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Japan Engineer District (JED) will be soliciting new chilled water systems as part of the Military Construction (MILCON) project at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. JED intends to include the following brand name requirement: HVAC Chillers �The U.S. Air Force has implemented an installation standardization of HVAC chiller manufacturers to reduce overall operating costs and increase overall performance efficiency. The Air Force has completed an agency-wide, class justification and approval through Fiscal Year 2024 (30 September 2024), which includes Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Chillers selected for use at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan are manufactured by Carrier. Vendors and/or manufacturers (such as Trane, York, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, etc.) that offer the chillers that can meet all the attached salient features and specifications are requested to respond to this notice. Responses should include the following information: (1) Vendor/Manufacturer System for Award (SAM) Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), CAGE, name, address, and country of product manufacturer, and point of contact information. (2) Fully detailed product catalog specification sheets. (3) Narrative addressing how your product does (or does not) meet the salient features described the attached in the attached specifications, drawing, and Carrier Catalog information.
