- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a Sole Source, firm-fixed price purchase order to Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), 20 North Clark Street Suite 2500, Chicago, IL 60602, in accordance with the authority under FAR Part 13.501(a). This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13, including subpart 13.5. The NAICS code is 611710 � Educational Support Services. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is charged with protecting the public health by ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, and medical devices; ensuring the safety of foods, cosmetics, and radiation-emitting products; and regulating tobacco products. As part of FDA, the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) performs an essential public health task by making sure that safe and effective drugs are available to improve the health of people in the United States. The Office of Executive Programs (OEP) oversees a variety of Center-wide programs, including executive project management, the Center�s executive secretariat function, scientific advisory committees, training, and development, CDER�s ombudsman, and program and administrative management.� Within OEP, the Division of Learning and Organizational Development (DLOD) provides employee training, development, and continuing education opportunities for CDER. FDA has a unique responsibility to provide education to a variety of constituents, to include FDA staff, clinical investigators, the public, medical professionals, healthcare professionals, industry, consumers, and academia.� Education and training are of the highest priority to FDA, and FDA continues to be responsive to the needs of these stakeholders by offering training opportunities leveraging various forums and formats.� ACPE is the only organization that accredits Providers to provide continuing medical, pharmacy and nursing education. The ACPE is responsible for collecting all payments and does not accept credit cards for the Joint Accreditation fees. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements as stated herein may submit a written response (i.e., capability statement), which clearly supports and demonstrates its ability to perform the requirements. Any response shall be received by the response date and time of this notice. Any response shall undergo review to determine if it can meet the requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
