- Description
- STATEMENT OF NEED GENERAL: James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, OI&T Service at 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33612, has a requirement for computer monitors. The monitors will be used in direct patient care and administrative rolls both in the hospital and by tele-workers. BACKGROUND: The James A. Haley OI&T utilized monitors for immediate nursing operations and administrative needs where work stoppage and patient care was an issue; when equipment broke or new work-centers were being activated; to support new employees approved for telework; to meet the immediate demands for CERNER; normal refresh to replace old, faded 19 (and smaller) monitors. Because stock is at a critical level, we are currently denying requests for the replacement of old 17 and 19 monitors, denying requests for two monitors for teleworking (only issuing one), halting refresh operations. The potential exists to impact activations. We have already utilized unused equipment from Grand Oaks and other office spaces no longer being used due to COVID. PURPOSE: The monitors will be used to support critical (work stoppage) demands in daily medical operations and administrative rolls, telework operations, and to replace any operationally critical broken or outdated equipment till the New Port Richie and Zephyrhills activations free up monitors currently in use at the old locations. SCOPE: James A Haley is requesting purchase of brand name or equal equipment that meets or exceed the physical, functional and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section.
