VIRTUAL BID OPENING INFORMATION: 1) Reminder, there will be no in-person public bid opening process this will be conducted as a public virtual activity. 2) The virtual bid opening will be available to the public via Microsoft Teams at the following link and/or phone number; Click here to join the meeting (Meeting will be available to be accessed 15 min prior to bid opening) Meeting phone number: 872-701-0185 Phone Conference ID: 543269745# 3) IAW FAR 52.214-5 Submission of Bids and 14.202-8 Electronic Bids; Bids shall be provided via email to the Contracting Officer at john.meyers2@va.gov as follows; Vendor bids are due via email as shown above at 12:00 PM local time on 9/29/2022. The virtual public bid opening will be held at 1:00 PM local time on 9/29/2022 at the link and/or the phone # provided above. A hard copy submission is not required. Any bids received after the date and time specified for receipt of bids will be processed in accordance with FAR 52.214-7 Late Submissions, Modifications, and Withdrawals of Bids (Nov 1999). 4) Ensure your complete bid including bid bond are provided in your submission. The successful low bidder is required to furnish their original bid bond within five (5) days after notification by the Contracting Officer. 5) It is highly recommended that Bidders submit their bid at least one hour prior to bid opening to avoid any transmission issues. II. The following change(s) are to be made to the solicitation: Specification section 14 21 10, paragraph 1.9 Removal of Materials and Equipment on page 14 21 10-7 is hereby amended to add paragraph C. as follows; C. Within 150 days from contract award: The Contractor shall decommission and remove the two SPS Dumbwaiters and all dumbwaiter equipment on all floor levels. Contractor shall remove all dumbwaiter supervisory panel, microprocessor control systems, controls cabinets and support stands; remove drive motors, including all steel beam support structures, hoist ropes and traveling cables; remove dumbwaiter car and car frame members, steel car guides and rails in the shaft, steel supports, fastenings, shaft way sensors, switches, call & send operations and corridor operating stations; remove all wiring and raceways (control & power) from within the dumbwaiter shaft to all call buttons, controls and landing lights, position indicators on all floor levels; remove all electrical (conductors, wireways and conduits) back to disconnect switches and j-boxes; remove the above ceiling high/low volt wiring, connections, signal device and transformers from the dumbwaiter controls to the adjacent corridor. Contractor shall install stainless steel cover plates over removed call button & landing light indictor wall boxes. All items disconnected and removed shall be disposed of offsite by the Contractor. Final removal of dumbwaiter cars and equipment shall be in Room B 48. All work in this room shall be performed within a dust proof containment and a HEPA Vac air scrubber. One landing access door on each level to be padlocked closed. The other to remain secured from operation from inside the hoist way by overriding the door safety interlock or other approved method. Contractor shall provide heavy duty contractor grade hasp and keyed padlock to lock and secure one door on each floor level. Padlocks shall be keyed alike. Contractor shall follow VA Risk Assessment and OSHA safety policies, standard safe work practices, and take such safety precautions as the VA Safety Engineer or his/her designee may deem prudent.
