- Description
- Light Adaptable Airdrop Platform (LAAP) - Reusable Energy Abatement Pad (REAP) is a airdrop platform authorized used by the United States Air Force for airdrop from cargo planes. These units take place of the traditional cardboard honey-comb utilized in drops and are reusable. Benefits of REAP include lower weight, less storage area, and lower total dry volume. The Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) tested the REAP with their Research & Development Team at US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center, Natick, MA. The test was completed to allow a reusable REAP pad in lieu of single use energy dissipating material on container delivery systems (CDS). An exception to policy memo is provided. The 166th Airlift Wing (AMC) proposes a firm-fixed price contract with Shock Tech in order to procure units for airdrops.
