Description
The purpose of this requisition is to purchase �SmartBatch+� high-throughput device for the electrophoretic tissue clearing and immunolabeling for the Infections of the Nervous System Section, INSS, National Institute of Neurological Disorderes and Stroke, NINDS. Generic Name of Product: SmartBatch+ Purchase Description: (1) Specify trade name: N/A (2) Specify product�s brand name: SmartBatch+ (3) Specify manufacturer's name: SmartBatch+ (3) Specify model, type, catalog, and/or part number(s): N/A Salient characteristics The instrument must have the following features: �Multi-functional: switches between clearing and labeling modes simply by changing buffers. � Fast, uniform labeling: eFLASH technology (bioRxiv 2019), combining SWITCH (Cell 2015) with patented stochastic electrotransport (SE, PNAS 2015) method to uniformly label intact tissue volumes. � Cost-effective: uing 4-20 ?g of antibody per target to label a sample the size of a whole mouse brain and requires <12 mins hands-on time per sample. � High throughput: The device must actively clear or label up to 12 whole mouse brains, 2 whole rat brains, or comparably sized samples per batch. � Ideal for light sheet imaging: must be combined with SHIELD tissue preservation, to protect fluorescent protein signal, antigenicity, and molecular & physical architecture through all tissue processing steps.
