Description
POINT OF CONTACT: Contract Specialist Jeannette Patton at Jeannette.K.Patton@usace.army.mil.� The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District, is seeking interested sources for generator step up transformer refurbishment parts, specifically bushings and gauges.� Proposed contract type will be a firm-fixed-price construction contract.� The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 811310, Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except Automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance, and the associated small business size standard is $11.0 M. This Sources Sought announcement is a tool to identify businesses with the capability to furnish the required refurbishment parts for this project and is for information/market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS, NOR A SYNOPSIS OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION UNDER FAR SUBPART 5.2. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon information received in response to this sources sought announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought announcement or any follow up information. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. This is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The results of this survey will be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice. OVERVIEW: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Seattle District, requires refurbishment of one three-phase Class II generator step up (GSU) transformer and incidental related work. Sources are sought for refurbishment parts that are equal to the following brand name manufacturer parts: ABB 230 kV High-Voltage Bushing ABB Type RIS bushing, style 230N1200AA, which has the same connecting interface between the bushing flange and transformer tank as existing, has the same tank internal dimension from the flange to the bottom connection of 59.50 inches, and the bolted connection to the winding lead is the same as the existing bushing.� This bushing is considered a direct replacement so no modifications would be required within the tank to install this design bushing.� The bushing is ABB Type O-Plus-Dry, Style 230N1200AA. ABB 25 kV High-Voltage Neutral Bushing ABB Type RIS bushing, style 025N0412AA, which has the same connecting interface between the bushing flange and transformer tank as existing, has the same tank internal dimension from the flange to the bottom connection of 29.50 inches, and the threaded bottom-connection for the winding lead clamp is the same as the existing bushing.� This bushing is considered a direct replacement so no modifications would be required within the tank to install this design bushing.� The bushing is ABB Type O-Plus-Dry, Style 025N0412AA. ABB 25 kV Low-Voltage Bushing ABB Type LCRJ bushing, which would be manufactured as an exact match to the existing low-voltage bushings and would be a direct replacement of the existing part, no modifications will be required for their installation.� Qualitrol Liquid Level Gauges The existing transformer liquid level gauges consist of two main components; an indicator face and a base which is mounted to the transformer expansion tank.� The indicator face is magnetically coupled to base component, which is directly connected to the float level mechanism that indicates the oil level.� This is a direct replacement of the existing gauges; no modifications would be required for their installation. REQUIREMENTS:� Interested firms should submit a capabilities package, to include the following: 1. Firm's name, address (mailing and URL), point of contact, phone number, email address. 2. Business classification, i.e., Small Business (SB), Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Small Business, 8(a) Program, or Other Than Small Business (large business). 3. CAGE code and UEI. 4. Firm's Joint Venture Information, if applicable. 5. Documentation demonstrating the identified products are equal to the brand name manufacturer products.� Products identified as equal products of the brand name manufacturer must provide equal performance, physical, functional, and salient characteristics. Clearly identify the item by brand name, if any, and make or model number.� Include descriptive literature such as illustrations or drawings.� Clearly describe any modifications required to make the identified products conform to the requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modifications. This research is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals/quotes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the USACE.� All interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit, in writing, complete information describing their interest and ability to meet all requirements stated above. Prior Government contract work is not required for submitting a response under a sources sought announcement. The official solicitation will be issued on www.SAM.gov inviting firms to register electronically to receive an electronic notification of a solicitation, should one be issued.
