DESCRIPTION: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO (U&W)) PMA-201, at Patuxent River, MD is requesting information from the U.S. Industrial Base to determine availability of steel tubing for the United States Navy (USN) and United States Air Force (USAF). This Request for Information (RFI) is being circulated to gather information on potential suppliers, production start timelines, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates, and industrial base limitations related to production of the desired tubing. Material shall be sourced from U.S. suppliers. MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS: Steel tubing meeting the following requirements is being sought: 1. Material:������������� �Steel Tubing meeting Grades 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1524, 1525, 1526, or 1527 of ASTM A1040. ROM cost and lead time estimates for production process/tooling development for each tubing diameter (a � d) at time of submission of response to RFI. ROM cost estimates for yearly production of each tubing diameter (a � d), for quantity ranges identified above. Identification of barriers to production of any or all of the desired tubing materials and/or geometries. These may include cost, lack of tooling/process, material availability, business case, etc. Other comments and suggestions regarding alternatives to the tubing material identified in the request or the manufacturing of it are encouraged and appreciated.
