Description

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR BID PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE PROJECT NUMBER: AZ FTBR SALT 80(1) PROJECT NAME: Horse Mesa Bridge PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project proposes to construct a new prefabricated bridge adjacent to the existing Horse Mesa bridge structure within the Tonto National Forest on Forest Route FR 80 (MP 3.90) over the Upper Car Wash area. The existing bridge is located under a rock outcropping that creates a vertical clearance issues and drainage concerns during rain events. The existing bridge will remain in place for use in emergency situations. The existing unpaved roadway will be realigned to provide connection with the new bridge. SCOPE OF THE WORK: The scope of work includes construction of a new prefabricated steel superstructure with an open grid steel deck and bridge rail, construction of new abutments and wingwalls, and realignment of approximately 200 linear feet of roadway. The roadway will be realigned east to connect the new bridge with the existing roadway, which will provide access to the Horse Mesa Dam at all times. The roadway structural section will consist of 6 inches of roadway aggregate. PRINCIPAL WORK ITEMS: Approximate quantities of principal work items include: � 1 prefabricated steel bridge (16� x 98�) � 28 cubic yards of structural concrete � 130 cubic yards of structure excavation � 275 square feet of reinforced concrete retaining wall � 3,600 pounds of reinforcing steel � 240 ton of roadway aggregate � 355 cubic yards of roadway excavation ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Advertisement is anticipated in September 2022, with contract award date in November 2022 and construction anticipated from November 2022 to October 2023. This duration includes time required for submittals and approvals of bridge drawings and prefabrication of the bridge. ESTIMATED COST RANGE: The estimated price range for this project is between $700,000 and $2,000,000.
