Description
The Effective Date of this Amendment is 8/12/2022. The purpose of this notice modification is to answer the following questions: Question 1: During the site visit it appeared that there are currently adequate conduits for both primary and redundant routes to both the Engineering Building and the Energy Center. Will new trenching and conduit be required to the Engineering Building and Energy Center, or can the existing available conduits be used? Answer 1: Primary and redundant pathways must be: concrete encased, maintain min. 50' separation, cannot cross over each other, cannot have above ground building connections. Only existing encased conduit pathway as indicated on sheet GS-001 may be utilized. If contractor can provide proof off all requirements above are met with other existing conduits, they may be utilized only after review of the engineer Question 2: The Electrical Design Narrative mentions Physical Security Cameras. Cameras are not shown in the prints. Are they required and if so, where? Answer 2: Refer to Bid Documents: Sheets E-401A, E-401B, E- 402A, E-402B, E-403A and E-404A Question 3: Are new racks to be supplied in any of the closets or will all fiber terminate on existing racks? If so what IT closets will require a new rack? Answer 3: Install Fiber Optic Termination Panels in existing racks. Question 4: Are we to provide Horizontal Wire Managers or are they already existing? Answer 4: Already in use Question 5: Will UPS/PDU s and Power Outlets need to be provided or are they already on the existing racks? Answer 5: Provide UPS/PDU s as indicated on design drawings. Refer to sheet E-502 of Bid Documents. Question 6: Do all related sleeves installed need fire stopped on a daily basis including during demo? Answer 6: Required if wall penetration is in a patient serving space, ICU, Medical Isolation or in surgical areas. Local VA policy is all fire caulking should be completed within 24 hours of penetration. Question 7: Can a drawing be provided to show the areas that require HEPA Med carts to be used? Answer 7: HEPA carts may only be required for the surgical and sterile processing areas on the 2nd floor Area B. It is advisable to have one on site or available on short notice should one be needed in additional areas. Question 8: Are we to provide Seismic Bracing for the existing racks? If so, can a detailed specification and drawings be provided? It also mentioned a Structural Engineer, do we need to contract one or is the VA? Answer 8: Yes, Provide Seismic Bracing for all Racks in TRs. T-000 Detail 1. T-000 General Note 6. Question 9: Are there any modifications to the Fire Alarms required? Answer 9: Not in this project. Question 10: There is a specification section 31 66 00 Helical Piles listed in the Table of Contents Section 00 01 10 portion of the specifications but there is no actual 31 66 00 Helical Piles specification section included in the documents nor can any information regarding Helical Piles be found on the drawings provided. Please provide clarification on the need and location of the Helical Piles mentioned. Answer 10: No requirement for Helical Piles. This was not intended to be listed in the TOC. Question 11: SF1442 states to deliver 2 copies of the bid to the location in Item 8 (which would be in Independence, OH). However, section 2.8 states that all bids are to be submitted electronically. Please clarify if the bid delivery is 2 copies of the bid to the office in Independence, OH or if the bid is submitted electronically. Answer 11: All bids are to be submitted electronically. Please review Instructions, Conditions, and other Statements to Bidders/Offerors, section 2.8 of the solicitation for bid submission procedures Question 12: What areas will require after hours work? Answer 12: All areas within patient care will be after hours work (5pm in most areas, 7pm in Urgent Care and Lab Processing Areas). All work involving loss of network or power is to be afterhours or weekend. After Hours Required: 1st floor all areas except for main East-West hallway. 2nd Floor All areas. 3rd Floor All areas. 4th Floor no after-hours required except for work involving loss of network or power.
