Description

1) Title. Emcore Expansion Cards and X-band Signal Transport Cards 2) Contract Action. The NOAA Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO) Satellite and Information Acquisition Division (SIAD) located in Silver Spring, MD, proposes to negotiate a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition in support of the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Office of Satellite and Product Operations (OSPO), Fairbanks Command Data Acquisition Station (FCDAS). NOAA intends to negotiate a contract with Emcore Corporation. 3) Description. FCDAS is a 24-7 satellite tracking station which supports NOAA environmental monitoring spacecraft. As part of its operations, FCDAS utilizes antenna systems capable of automatically tracking radio signals transmitted from these spacecraft. Radio/network-over-fiber cards are integral components of the antenna systems. Legacy radio/network-over-fiber equipment is being decommissioned due to age and lack of serviceability and must be replaced. FCDAS requires expansion cards for existing Emcore Optiva chasses that will allow for system monitoring and signal level control, as well as add spare X-Band signal transport cards. These new components will be used in 5-meter Malibu and 26-Meter antennas. These components are required to transport antenna network and radio frequency data from the antenna pedestal to the operations center. In addition, there are no spare X-Band radio-over-fiber cards.
