- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. �The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate with other than full and open competition basis with Genscript USA Incorporated, 860 Centennial Ave, Piscataway, NJ 08854. NIH has a need for: Customized Protein Production in Bacterial Expression, �Expression construct preparation, Expression and purification and QC Tests.� Genscript has the stock virus needed to provide the required services. NIH has already invested in the development of a proprietary expression plasmid at Genscript. This plasmid is engineered to express our our patented VHH4.1 sequence in bacteria. Preliminary data show that this plasmid gives high yields of purified VHH4.1 protein that bind to norovirus VLPs. We are unable to express and purify the quantity of protein needed in our lab, and we seek to utilize the plasmid and production pipeline that we have already established at GenScript. Genscript has the necessary experience, equipment. and expertise to produce the candidate therapeutic nanobody that will be tested in a preclinical animal study. A production pipeline has been established and no other vendor has the specific plasmid expression vector that will be used. We have worked with GenScript to develop a proprietary expression vector to express VHH4.1 in a bacteria expression at Genscript. The bacteria transformed with the proprietary vector will be grown at large scale in fermenters and purified at the company. No substitutions are accepted for this project. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C.1901 (e) (2) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. � All responsible sources that could provide comparable services may submit a capability statement that will be considered by email (subject line to reference NOI-NIAID-2136797) to Diana Rohlman at diana.rohlman@nih.gov, by 4pm eastern standard time, July 28, 2022. �All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. �A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. �
