Description

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price to purchase one True Fitness 650 Treadmill, with Cover Guard Fitness. �� The Recreation Therapy Section of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department (RMD) provides clinical services to patients involved in clinical trials at the National Institutes of Health. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) and allied professionals within RMD will utilize the True Fitness 650 Treadmill for one on one and/or group treatment with patients. The True Fitness 650 Treadmill will be utilized to increase muscular strength, endurance, and overall levels of fitness which aims to improve patients' conditioning, functioning, independence, and overall quality of life. In addition, the True Fitness 650 Treadmill will be utilized by family members and guests of patients enrolled in clinical trials in order to address family centered care.� Providing a safe and well-maintained treadmill such as the True Fitness 650 Treadmill installed by Cover Guard Fitness will meet the needs of RMD staff, patients, family members, and guests in terms of utilization and safety. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date, July 27, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Noelle DeCenzo, Contract Specialist, Noelle.decenzo@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
