- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation notice. Proposals are being solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the RAC Willow Park and Ignacio Fence project. This project is to construct two sections of fence (~3.968 ft new construction and ~5,886 ft reconstruction) along the Cochetopa and Los Pinos Cattle and Horse grazing allotment boundaries located in Saguache County, Colorado. The purpose is to close existing gaps from spruce beetle and timber sale activity to ensure proper grazing management can be accomplished by preventing cattle movement off their permitted allotment. The Reconstruction is the base item, and the new construction is an optional item. A pre-bid/site visit is planned. See Section L for details. Project Location: The project area is located near the area of Los Pinos pass, which is south of Gunnison, Colorado. From Gunnison, travel east on Hwy-50 for 8.2 miles to the intersection of SH-114 and turn south (right). Continue on SH-114 for 20 miles and turn west (right) onto County Road NN-14. In 3.4 miles, turn right onto KK-14. In 18 miles, turn left onto County Road 8-EE (FSR 790). In 3.7 miles there will be a fence line with a cattleguard. The upslope fence (right) is the fence to be reconstructed. 1.3 miles further (east) is parking for the new fence construction (~260 yards north is the proposed west ending point). Alternate route from Montrose is to turn south (right) off Hwy-50 onto Hwy-149 towards Lake City, CO. After 17 miles, turn right at County Road 27. Continue for 15.4 miles and take a left on County Road 52. In 1.2 miles, keep left onto County Road 45 (FSR 788). Continue up the grade for 5.7 miles before turning right onto County Road 8-EE (FSR 790) and the project area will be in 3.7 miles. See attached maps for more information. General Information: In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.
