Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Boston VAMC, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with Integrated Veterans Services for Food Service Equipment. This is also in accordance with VAAR Clause 819.7007 (a) A contracting officer may award contracts to VOSB concerns on a sole source basis provided the requirement is synopsized in accordance with FAR part 5; This requirement will include the following characteristics: Product Description VA Boston Healthcare System has a requirement to purchase 01 Eco-650 food waste dehydrator to reduce the volume of wasted food. Salient Characteristics The dehydrator must meet the following criteria: Purpose-built for dehydration of food to lower the percent of wasted food at the facility Treatment cycle of 14 to 20 hours Power use of 208/220V 60A Three Phase Power consumption of 8.0 kW Wasted food reduction rate of 80 to 93% Maintains a tank temperature of 85 C (185 F) 304-grade stainless steel Locks on all internal compartments to prevent unauthorized entry Contact safety switches that will stop the augers if the input door is opened while running Electrical circuits protected by GFCI Emergency shut off button on machine ETL Certified Inclusion of one-year parts and labor warranty Available four-year extended warranty This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than 07/15/2022, C.O.B. Responses should be sent to Nathan.langone@va.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. This purchase will be made under simplified acquisition procedures as authorized by FAR 13-106-1(b).
