Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Surgery Branch (SB) Flow Cytometer core facility plans to procure a 3-Laser Attune CytPix Cytometer with CytKickMAX premium autosampler from Life Technologies Corporation of 3175 Staley Road, Grand Island, New York 14072 on a sole source basis. This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 � Acquisition for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial acquisitions.� The response close date of this notice for this requirement is in accordance with FAR 5.203(a)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516 and the business size standard is 1,000 employees. The NCI SB Flowcytometry core facility lab requires a highly productive and easy to operate multi-parameter flow cytometer instrument which utilizes Acoustic Focusing technology used for preventing clogs and obstructions during acquisition of DNA Cell Cycle experiments. The stated instrument requires built-in high speed image capture capability used for killing assay experiments and compatibility with NCI�s current existing flow cytometry data analysis software platforms which will be utilized by NCI�s oncology surgery branch investigators to acquire and analyze data for cancer patents cells for ongoing research and treatment developments. The acquisition of a 3-Laser Attune CytPix Cytometer with CytKickMAX premium autosampler will allow NCI to utilize its patented Acoustic Focusing feature to acquire cells clog free during data acquisition for DNA Cell Cycle experiments and use its high speed image capture capability for killing assay experiments using patient cells treated with anti-tumor treatments in identifying programed cell death experiments such as Apoptosis, Apo-Brdu, Annexin-V, and a multitude of ongoing research studies such as identifying subpopulations of cancer fighting cells which are then cultured and used for research and treatment of terminal cancer patients. The 3-Laser Attune CytPix Cytometer with CytKickMAX premium autosampler instrument shall be utilized by NCI investigators at the NIH/NCI oncology surgery branch for acquiring DNA Cell cycle and immunophenotyping experiments for ongoing research in development of treatments for metastatic cancers using adoptive cell therapy. The 14 parameter 3-Laser Attune CytPix Cytometer with CytKickMAX premium autosampler will replace the existing 6 parameter 2-laser BD Facs Calibur / E5103 Flow cytometer instrument which is currently due for service discontinuation by the manufacturer later this year. The 3-Laser Attune CytPix Cytometer with CytKickMAX premium autosampler will allow the expansion of NCI�s existing flowcytometry capabilities from 6 parameter detection capability to a 14 parameter for investigators. The sated instrument will allow easy to operate needs for users on 24-hour/7 days a week basis which is vital to the core flow cytometry facility lab at the NCI Oncology Surgery Branch. The patented built-in Acoustic Focusing feature will allow users to acquire DNA cell cycle experiments clog free at a faster rate, increasing NCI�s flow cytometry productivity. The built-in brightfield imaging camera feature will allow investigators to acquire and view killing assay experiments used for CAR-T Cells experiments. This notice is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party, especially small business believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a capability statement for the Government to consider. The response and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can perform the requirement.� Responses must be received in the contracting office by 12:00 PM ET, on July 06, 2022.� All responses and questions must be via email to Miguel Diaz, Contracting Officer at miguel.diaz@nih.gov.� A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
