- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), St. Paul District (MVP) has a requirement to install sheet pile at Lock and Dam 8 (LD8). This project will create an auxiliary lock bay closure of LD 8 upstream of the existing auxiliary miter gates. The closure will serve as a new damming surface for the structure. The new closure will consist of two parallel rows of sheet pile secured with tie-rods with granular material filled in the space between the sheets. Permeation grouting will be performed for seepage control measures. Timber fenders will be attached to the upstream face of the closure, and an access ladder will be installed as part of the project work.� LD8 is located near Genoa, WI (Vernon County), and is accessible from Wisconsin State Highway 35. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 237990; Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction with a small business size standard of $39.5M. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000; the contract will require 100% performance and payment bonds.� This procurement is set-aside 100% for small business concerns. This synopsis is not a request for quotes (RFQ), proposals (RFP), or in an invitation for bids (IFB). This is a pre-solicitation notice indicating that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of one firm-fixed-price contract is intended to be issued via Contract Opportunities at SAM.gov.� The anticipated solicitation issuance date is July 13, 2022.� The solicitation will not be issued less than 15 days from the date of this announcement. ��The specifications and drawings will be included with the solicitation once issued. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Bids will be due not less than 30 days from the date the solicitation is issued.� The definitive IFB due date and time will be stated in the solicitation and any associated amendments that may be issued. No CD's or hard copies will be available. Bidders are responsible for checking the referenced page for any update(s) to this Notice. The Government is not responsible for any loss of Internet connectivity or for any bidder�s inability to access the document posted at the referenced website. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the System for Award Management (SAM).
