Amendment 0001 issued to provide answers to questions submitted by interested contractor. Q1. The A/C unit that sits on a stand is currently on a portion of the asphalt that is called to be demolished and replaced. Will the A/C unit need to be disconnected and moved to allow the asphalt paving to occur. This would leave the building without cooling for an extended period of time. Should the existing asphalt under the unit remain if sewer work will allow? A1. Considering the drain line running beneath the AC rack is planned to be left in place and there are no new drainpipe connections planned beneath the rack & the new drain planned is West of the existing rack, leaving the rack in place is an option. If left in place, the existing asphalt can remain. Im ok with the new and old asphalt not matching as long as the asphalt is sawcut prior to removal & were not left with a jagged border. If it is discovered during construction that leaving the rack and AC in place is absolutely not an option, Ill take care of moving the rack and AC unit. It is understood this will leave the area with no cooling. Q2. The basement floor cleanout shown in Photo #3 on sheet C-103 of the drawings is partially under an existing partition wall. Please confirm we are to demo a portion of this wall and replace. Please also confirm this is a non-load bearing wall. A2. If the wall needs to be partially removed to facilitate work, it is ok to do so. To my knowledge, it is not bearing any weight. Another option is to move the location of the new drain away from the wall (out towards center of room however far necessary), angle new drain & trap towards existing drainpipe to make the connection. The drain under the wall can then be filled w/ grout/concrete and covered w/ flooring. Q3. One of the basement floor drains is under a permanent metal rack. Please confirm the owner will move/demo the conflicting portion of the rack prior to the start of work. A3. Well move the conflicting portion of the rack but will need to be advised on how much space youll need. Q4. Please confirm that the owner will move all tables/boxes/tools/furniture that will obstruct the work prior to the start of work. A4. USDA will move these items. Q5. Please confirm the storage shed located on a portion of the asphalt to be demolished will be moved by the owner prior to the start of work. A5. It will be either demolished or moved by USDA.
