Description
The FNCVAMC has approximately 40 buildings/structures located on a site over 50 acres in size. The below list of some existing system components is meant to represent the approximate scale of efforts only and does not represent the entirety of the project requirements. The contractor shall develop a complete plan to replace all system components with the new VA approved system. The replacement system is expected to have its own four post mounting rack furnished and installed beside the existing system rack. Upon completion the existing rack and components will be removed and disposed of (or turned over to the VA if this is per approved plan Expect all end item components to be removed and turned over to the VA (cameras, switches, recorders)). New rack must be installed to be able to move into the position of the former rack once removed. This project includes replacing up to 1000 feet of CAT6 cable in the existing system to replace lessor cable or failed/broken cabling. Any unused portion of this new cabling shall be turned over to the VA at the end of the project. Expect up to 200 feet of new ¾ conduit and 20 new 4 x 4 junction boxes to be required to retrofit new system. Existing exterior housings and brackets can be re-used as needed. Existing interior mounting brackets can be re-used as needed. VA will supply replacement ceiling tiles as needed, but contractor must have pre-work survey photographs for existing conditions references before starting any work. Ceiling tiles damaged by the contractor shall be replaced at the contractors expense and must match surrounding tile style and manufacturer. The contactor shall offer no less than two viable replacement system alternatives. Replacement plan shall include descriptions and details of both systems that will address positive and negative aspects, availability of system replacement components, warranty, overall functions and abilities. Any offered system must meet VA requirements otherwise the contractor shall find and offer another alternative at no additional cost to the VA (ensue any offered system meets requirements before offering as a viable replacement). Replacement system must include rack mounted UPS to support the system for a minimum of one hour. The existing system consists of: 156 interior and exterior cameras 3 Network Video Recorders 27 Power over Ethernet (PoE) switches 2 core switches at Building 21 3 Operator Workstations 6 large screen wall mounted television monitors 1 computer rack Design references listed at III.B. below are meant for the contractor to use to identify any issues in the existing system that is not being replaced under this project but prevents proper function or operation.
