Description
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for construction services.� The work includes but is not limited to: The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) National Sedimentation Laboratory located in Oxford, MS., has a requirement to Remove all existing flooring (approximately 7,000 SF of some original tile overlaid with rolled linoleum and/or carpet, and some rolled linoleum on concrete) as shown in shaded area of Figure 1 down to the sub-flooring in Building 1, 1957 wing, repair and level the sub-flooring as needed, abate all asbestos tiles and mastic associated with the removed flooring (approximately 5,800 SF see shaded area in Figure 2), demo and abate casework as shown in Figure 2 (approximately 260 SF of ACM casework, and 30 SF of non-ACM casework) and install a new floor system to match type shown in Figure 4 & 4b.� All abatement activity shall be coordinated with the Location Point of Contact.�� Paint walls and non-acoustic tile ceilings as shown in the shaded area of Figure 3 (approximately 20,500 SF).� All bulletin boards, wall mounted appurtenances, etc. are to be removed and selected boards and appurtenances reinstalled after painting.� Any minor defects found in the walls are to be repaired before painting to deliver a smooth professionally painted surface. All offices, conference rooms, doors, door frames and the already painted surfaces of window frames will be painted before the new flooring is installed. The color selection for the walls, doors and door/window frames shall be picked by the site Research Leader.� New vinyl cove base will be installed in all offices, conference rooms, and hallways where floor replacement is performed.� All door frames and window frames will be painted in a complimentary color of the new cove base.� All sensitive lab equipment will be removed by USDA prior to the notice to proceed.� All remaining movable furniture is to be moved by the successful bidder and stored on site in contractor provided weatherproof containers and replaced after floor and paintwork is complete.� Supply appropriate high visibility safety signs for first aid, fire extinguisher, safety shower, and eye wash to be installed by USDA in the following numbers and sizes: 35 - 6�X8.5� First Aid signs, 75 - 6�X8.5� Fire Extinguisher signs, 25 � 7�X9� Safety Shower signs, and 25 6�X8.5� Eye Wash signs.� All work shall be performed in accordance with the SOW, terms, conditions, drawings and specifications contained in this document. Contractors are required to be actively registered in the System for Award Management, (SAM)� prior to submitting a proposal.� You can register on- line at www.sam.gov. �If you are already registered and your registration has expired, you will need to go the SAM website and update your information. Please refer to Section L.7 (b) of the attached Clauses and Provisions for site visit information.
