Description
Upright research-grade microscope SOURCES SOUGHT The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing an Imaging Microscope as described in the Salient Characteristics. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS A) Base and lamp -Upright microscope -Course and fine focus adjustment knobs -High intensity 100W LED lamp -Turret condenser that can work with brightfield, darkfield, phase contrast, polarized light, and Nomarski differential inference contrast (DIC) -Ergonomic Trinocular head with 2 eyepieces and a third port for a camera -Capable of adding epifluorescent lamps and filter cubes as a future modification -Manual stage with long-stalk slide holder -Automatic light intensity adjustment when changing objectives -Potential to add up epifluorescent capabilities in the future -Potential to add automatic/motorized stage and focusing adjustments in the future -Potential to add up to 26 additional eyepiece locations for trainings and teaching B) Optics -Plan acromat 10x objective -U Plan fluorite 20x, 40x, 60x, and 100x objectives -Nomarski differential inference contrast (DIC) for the 40x, 60x, and 100x objectives C) Camera and imaging software -At least 6.4 megapixel color camera -CMOS sensor -Can take still images or videos -Software can edit images and add a scale bar. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 333314, Optical Instruments and Lens Manufacturing, and associated size standard 500 employees apply to this announcement, along with Product Service Code 6640, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to yangzhideng@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than 06/20/2022 at 1700 ET. Proposals submitted by hardcopy or any web portal shall not be accepted or considered.
