Description
Scope of Work Project Title: Renovate Research Area/Animal Lab Project Number: 630-15-112 Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to Renovate Research Area/Animal Lab project indicated in the construction drawings and specifications. All work shall be performed at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located on 423 East, 23rd Street, New York, NY 10010. Scope of Work: Complete renovation of existing research area on the 18th Floor, West Wing as indicated in the construction drawings and specifications. Add an extended exhaust discharge duct section at least 25 feet from the new AC-13 outside air intake in the Penthouse (See drawing 1-MH-202A). All demolished materials shall be removed off the site on a regular basis and during off hours (5:00 PM 11:30 PM). All disposal and rubbish removals are the contractor s responsibility. Hold Bi-Weekly construction meetings and prepare meeting minutes. Provide 24 independent third party monthly construction safety inspections and reports. Coordinate all fire alarm, sprinkler system and utility shutdowns with facility representative and attend utility shutdown meetings as requested by the Resident Engineer. Coordinate materials and equipment delivery and storage with the facility representative. Provide Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) to mitigate construction safety deficiencies. Provide Infection Disease Control and Risk Assessment (ICRA). Provide an independent testing laboratory to perform water sampling and testing and written reports in accordance to VA plumbing specifications and Water System Infection Control Risk Assessment (WSICRA) requirements. The independent testing laboratory must be certified by the New York State Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP). Contractor shall be required to provide the following documentation for all of his/her personnel working on VA property: VA issued identification badges OHSA Training certifications Construction Safety and Accident Prevention plans TB tuberculin test certifications Proof of COVID-19 vaccination Base Bid and Alternates: Base Bid: Include Items listed above Completion Time: 730 calendar days (2 Years) Deduct Alternate #1: All work included in Base Bid items except delete Autoclave from Scope of Work in the Construction Documents. Completion Time: 540 calendar days (1.5 Years) Deduct Alternate #2: All work included in Base Bid items except delete Rack Washer from Scope of Work in the Construction Documents. Completion Time: 540 calendar days (1.5 Years)
