- Description
- This is a Notice of Intent to Sole source.� Requests for a solicitation will receive no response.�� This Proposed Contract Action is published to notify potential sources that the National Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station Intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract, on behalf of the USDA Forest Service, to Clarivate Analytics (US) LLC for Web of Sciences Social Sciences Citation Index and Web of Sciences Science Citation Index Expanded. The Web of Science is a proprietary database that is owned and hosted exclusively by Clarivate Analytics.� It gives access to multiple databases that reference cross-disciplinary research.� The Forest services utilizes the Web of Science access for research for reports, papers, journal articles and proposals.� Without this renewal researchers will no longer have access to the Web of Science databases and lose the ability to provide timely, up to date research in support of their customers.� Web of Science provides access to a broad range of international scientific technical and social sciences literature.�� Indexed content includes books, journals, conference proceedings, technical reports, patents, and web content.� �Functionality must include subject searching, keyword searching, cited reference searching, author searching, analysis of results, links to full text, alerting services, citation exporting, and the ability to refine search results. �Users must be able to use the resource to prevent duplication of prior research, to identify the body of work on particular topics, and to track and assess the subsequent impact the Forest Service's research has had on others by identifying who has cited our research. Users must be able to use this dataset for performance metrics which will help to demonstrate the relevance, quality, performance and efficiency of Forest Service Research & Development's (FS R&D's) work The Proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b)(1)(i) Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement.� This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Date posted to SAM.gov� June 13, 2022.� Date Posting will close:8:00 am June 29th, 2022. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 519130.� The Size Standard is 1,000. The desired delivery date described herein is anticipated to be, June 30, 2022. The Responses to this synopsis will be used to confirm that this is a sole source requirement.�� This notice is NOT a request for Quote (RFQ); it is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability and adequacy of potential sources prior to awarding the contract.� Any information submitted by respondents to this synopsis is strictly voluntary.� The Government will not pay for any information that is submitted by respondents to this notice of proposed contract action.� Contractors who believe they possess the expertise and experience shall submit technical capabilities in writing to Rochelle Infante electronically at: Rochelle.Infante@usda.gov.� Responses must be received no later than 11:00 am June 28th 2022 MDT.� All documentation shall become the property of the Government.� Firms responding must indicate the following information: Business Size: small business, disadvantaged business, veteran owned small business or HUB Zone certified, indicate the appropriate NAICS code, and UEI.� This synopsis neither constitutes a request for Quote nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach.� This synopsis should not be construed as commitment by the Government for any purpose other than market research. ��Please note than any prospective offeror must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov prior to the award in accordance with FAR part 4.11
