Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This is not a request for competitive proposals/quotes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), hereby announces its intent to issue a sole source order/contract to Indoor Biotechnologies Inc. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 325414, Biological Product (except Diagnostic) Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The primary purpose of this contract is to obtain analytical laboratory support services to analyze industrial hygiene air samples for airborne Can s 3 protein, a recognized allergen from the cannabis plant, as part of the CDC/NIOSH-funded project �Evaluating Allergic Sensitization among Colorado Cannabis Industry Workers�.� The activities will focus on understanding potential airborne occupational exposures to biological proteins from the cannabis plant that may result in allergies and allergic sensitization among cannabis industry workers. This work will primarily support the NIOSH industrial hygiene activities related to identifying potential exposures and protecting workers as needed. These analytical laboratory support services for this airborne allergen cannot be performed by NIOSH�s main laboratory contract. Therefore, a contract must be made with InBio, which has a propriety assay for Can s 3 protein that will be used for sample analysis. The contractor will provide analytical laboratory support services to assist the WSD industrial hygiene team in understanding and assessing occupational exposures for Can s 3. NIOSH industrial hygienists will collect air samples on workers in cannabis industry worksites using filter cassettes and sampling pumps; the samples will be sent to the contractor for quantitative analysis of airborne cannabis allergy protein Can s 3 using their proprietary laboratory assays. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely in the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov This action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations. This is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will review any/all product, capabilities, and pricing information submitted prior to the closure of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
