- This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only.� This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal.� This request does not obligate the Government in any contract award.� The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is issuing the sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support the requirement for the Overhaul Nineteen Vertical Turbine Pumps at the Dissolved Oxygen Injection System Sites.� The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement.� The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 333914 � Measuring, Dispensing, And Other Pumping Equipment Manufacturing.� The Product Service Code is J043 Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment�Pumps and Compressors. �� Statement of Work Overhaul Nineteen Vertical Turbine Pumps at the Dissolved Oxygen Injection System Sites Removal, transportation, disassembly, inspection, possibly repair, reassembly, transportation and installation of nineteen (19) Vertical Turbine Pumps (VTPs) at the Down River (DR) and/or Up River (UR) Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Injection System sites.� It is envisioned that four to five VTPs would overhauled yearly during the offseason (November to April) with potential emergency rebuilds being required during the run season (May to October).� As stated, there are a total of 19 VTPs split between two locations (10 at Hutchinson Island, Savannah and 9 at Rincon, GA) in the Savannah, GA area. There is a possibility that VTPs would be pulled from each location during a rebuild season.� Listed below is the type, number of each type, and salient information for each type of VTP.� All VTPs were manufactured by ITT Gould. For reference: the naming convention for VTPs at the Down River DO sIte is DP-1 through DP-10, VTPs at the Up River DO sIte is UP-1 through UP-9. Removal and installation of the VTPs has taken two cranes working in tandem.� The VTPs would be lifted out of their holes and over existing infrastructure in order to be loaded onto flatbeds. VTP motors would be separated from the pump bodies and stored at the respective DO sites. The incumbent contractor will be responsible to store the VTP motors in a manner protected from the elements.
