The principal purpose of this requirement is to provide support to the NASA/GSFC Engineering and Technology Directorate (ETD). ETD is an end-to-end science mission operation that is instrumental in designing missions, building satellites and instruments, operating and controlling spacecraft, and acquiring and distributing data to the world-wide science community. ETD is responsible for providing multidiscipline engineering expertise to all projects within GSFC, in addition to in-house and out-of-house instrument and spacecraft programs, including the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program and NASAs Exploration and In-space Services (NExIS) projects division. The purpose of the OMES III contract is to provide multidiscipline engineering support services and related work to JPSS, NExIS, ETD engineering divisions (Mechanical Systems, Instrument Systems and Technology, Electrical, Software, and Mission Engineering and Systems Analysis), and related organizations, as required, for the study, design, systems engineering, development, fabrication, integration, testing, verification, and operations of space flight, airborne, and ground system hardware and software, including development and validation of new technologies to enable future space and science missions. The Statement of Work, Attachment A, describes the scope of the requirement. This competitive acquisition will result in a Cost-Plus-Fixed Fee (CPFF) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) requirement with the ability to issue CPFF task orders. The contract will have an effective ordering period of 5 years from the contract effective date. Please see the attached cover letter for further information.
