- Description
- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes as the initiation of market research under FAR, Part 10, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended to gather information and feedback from industry partners as a part of market research related to the implementation of a Digital Engineering (DE) tool suite. The U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC) Requirements and Systems Integration Division is conducting market research for standing up a digital engineering tool suite that shall be hosted in the cArmy cloud environment. AFC is looking for tools and/or a suite of tools that enables an integrated digital engineering implementation approach to systems development across a system's lifecycle. The purpose of this RFI notice is to determine industry interest, capability, knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience in leveraging digital engineering tools for the cloud environment. The requirement is intended to identify potential tools that are proven, supported, interoperable, and deployed from private industry. As part of AFCs marketing research efforts, we will be hosting an invitation only Industry Day. Invitations will only be sent out to respondents, organizations, and/or companies that respond to this RFI. The Industry Day is tentatively scheduled for mid-summer. Announcements with more details will be sent out in the near future. As the pace of technological innovation accelerates, so too does the tempo of warfare. In order to adequately provide for the modern warfighter and maintain a decisive lead over all challenges, whether they be domestic or foreign adversaries, natural or unnatural disasters, the U.S. Army seeks to adopt digital engineering concepts to develop, field, and sustain the world's best equipment at the speed of relevance. This adoption shall be done at the Army Enterprise level and the digital engineering tool suite is critical for the Armys digital transformation. Digital Engineering Capabilities may include but are not limited to the following: Authoritative Source of Truth (ASoT) Digital Thread Digital Twin Project Management Model Based Systems Engineering (architecture) Requirements decomposition and analysis Code generation Data Management Collaboration and Configuration Management Modeling and Simulation Simulation Process Data Management Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) DevSecOps Testing and Evaluation Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Product data Management (PDM) Analysis/Visualization Risk/Schedule Submission Instructions Responses must include the information requested below and must be sent to michael.p.tucker38.civ@army.mil and henry.d.babb3.civ@army.mil no later than (15 June 2022). This notice is strictly for market research.
