Description

The Federal Regional Center (FRC) is an underground bunker-type facility built in the 1960�s during the cold war. The facility has a ground floor and two underground floors. The Main Service Distribution Breaker is located on an outside patio on the south side of the FRC building.� When the electrical service to the FRC is interrupted, the backup generator will start.� Once the power has been restored, The main service disconnect breaker will not switch back to the city power and disconnect the backup generator. The scope of this project is to replace the main service disconnect breaker with a certified rebuilt breaker to avoid a life/safety issue.� Also, we are asking for a second certified rebuilt breaker to use as a backup breaker in an emergency.� The Main Service Breaker feeding this facility, it seems to have a bad contactor motor which is preventing it to transfer back upon restore power.� This will include removal and disposition of old unit or parts and all associated cleanup. The objective is to have a 150 VCP-W 500, 15KV 1200 Amp, 120VAC Charge and Close, 120 VAC Bus Cap Trip, rebuilt and certified Main Service Disconnect Breaker with adding another certified rebuild for use as a backup. The Contractor shall provide all labor (Davis/ Bacon rates), materials, tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to complete this work.
