Description

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has determined a consolidation of contract requirements for the Protective Services � Eastern Region at Glenn Research Center (GRC), Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Headquarters (HQ), and Langley Research Center (LaRC) is necessary and justified in accordance with FAR 7.107-2(e)(1)(i) and (ii). Aside from percentage of savings identified within the determination, the consolidation is critical to the Agency�s mission success based on NASA�s Mission Support Future Architecture Program (MAP). Quality improvements that will save time and improve performance or efficiency in a consolidation of contract requirements in support of MAP include: standardization of technical, safety and health, quality, and information technology requirements across the Agency; the ability to move vehicles and personnel to support emergencies at other Centers; consolidation and reduction of contract deliverables and reporting; and the establishment of a centralized repository for contractual data. Additionally, the procurement strategy provides for maximum practicable participation by small business since this is an 8(a) small business set-aside. A copy of the determination, including redactions, is attached. The Final RFP release is anticipated no earlier than seven days after this publication.
