- SUBJECT Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the C-5 Automatic Servomotor (NSN: 6615-01-493-4075 P/N: 4D97715-101A). ITEM DESCRIPTION The Autopilot Servo Motor (APS) is a rotary actuator. It provides the necessary coupling or isolation of the autopilot subsystem with the control linkages and cables for automatic operation of the control surfaces. It provides a means of achieving hold modes of flight in the pitch and lateral axis. The aileron servo is mounted on the center wing rear beam and the elevator servo is located beneath the flight deck floor on the copilot's side. The assemblies consist of a servo motor/generator, position sensor, diaphragm, engage clutch, status/switch, drive train, and a connector installed in a housing. IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for this item is MPC Products Corporation (Cage Code: 19710) which maintains its proprietary manufacturing data for this item. The Government does not own the data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of the requirements for the NSN listed herein. As a result, MPC Products Corporation is the only known source with adequate knowledge of this item�s performance requirements and possession of the required technical capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure the compatibility with its respective next higher assembly. INTEREST The� DLA/AWB� Contracting� Office� intends� to� award� a� sole� source� contract to�MPC Products Corporation in order to fulfill the Government�s requirement for the acquisition of the automatic servomotor.� Other interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on June 4, 2022 by emailing Mobolaji Ogunsakin Jr. at mobolaji.ogunsakin.1@us.af.mil and Robert Berg at robert.berg.9@us.af.mil. The Government intends to procure this item using Other Than Full and Open Competition�as� prescribed� by� FAR �6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
