Description
The contractor shall provide all labor, parts, travel, tools, material, equipment, supervision and technical expertise necessary for the removal and disposal of hazardous materials such as: Asbestos, Lead, mold, and minor flooring repair work at the VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia 23667. Period of performance is May 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022. Services shall be provided in accordance with the terms and conditions listed herein.� The Contractor will supply all transportation, labor, parts, materials, tools, specialized equipment, sufficient to support the Hampton VA Medical Center�s need for a Task Order to provide abatement, repair, and disposal services for areas containing or effected by Asbestos, Lead, and Mold at the request of the Hampton VAMC Contracting Offices Representative (COR). The purpose of this requirement is to conduct asbestos, lead, mold and minor post remediation constructions and repairs through the contract performance period. The service area for this task order will be throughout real property of the Hampton VA Medical Center including the Transitional Resident Homes, local and connected Veteran�s Cemetery, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The contractor is to safely isolate, abate, remove, and dispose of all hazardous waste materials including, but not limited to: Asbestos Containing Materials, Lead Based Paint, mold remediation debris, and mold contaminated materials. Upon remediation of the hazardous materials the contractor will, at the request of the COR, perform repairs on the abatement area to return the area to safe working condition. The contractor shall also perform any air sampling and monitoring required by the type of abatement being performed. �Maintenance and Repairs.� Once task has been completed, the contractor will be responsible for all inspections including performing a final inspection with the Contracting Officer�s Representative.� Contractor will be tasked to remove and return furniture back in its original location.� Contractor will protect furniture, employee, and government property in the work area. The contractor will be tasked to identify any potential friable asbestos and flaky lead-based paint and any possible water penetrations that will, or have, form(ed) bacterial growth. If the contractor encounters any bacterial growth in the immediate work area, the contractor will remediate and seal with a mold inhibitor, and where feasible, when directed by the Medical Center, perform repairs to prevent/remediate the source of water intrusion.� Once the interior and exterior investigation is completed, the contractor will be tasked to remove all debris, clean interior spaces, and all surfaces where work has been conducted.� Contractor will utilize an HEPA VAC to minimizes any potential dust from being airborne, and wet wipe work and adjacent areas. �Upon completion of this task, the contractors will provide a final cleaning upon inspection approval of the Medical Center Industrial Hygienist. During performance of work, Critical barriers will be installed to prevent the possibility of dust and exposure controls will be established as required by the COR. The contractor will remove all required barriers and interim life safety measures and infection control element upon completion of the work and after approval with final inspection by the COR. The contractor will ensure all work is conducted in accordance with OSHA, EPA, State and VA Directives.�
