- Description
- The scope of work includes Design and Construction, by Base Bid and Options, including providing and installing FFE shelving, and other work at Warehouse B13, B14, and B15 on Naval Station Newport, RI. Warehouses Building 13, Building 14 and Building 15 are one-story, 30,000-square foot buildings constructed in 1943 and currently used as warehouses for NSN tenants. The building construction is slab on grade. Exterior finishes include wood, vinyl siding, wood windows, a built-up roof, and a rolled asphalt roof. Interior finishes include drywall and wood walls; drywall, wood, and suspended ceilings; and carpet, floor tile, and concrete floors. The building is wood frame construction insulated with fiberglass batting. The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is central and contains metal ducting. Pipe runs and elbows were insulated with fiberglass and TSI lagging. Base Bid Work includes expansion of The NHHC, Naval Heritage and History Command, and NWCM, Naval War College Museum, climate-controlled storage spaces in warehouse B13 on Naval Station Newport, to include security to facilitate expansion of its museum artifact collection. The museum�s current storage facility is a max capacity and requires expansion in order to meet its required standard for collections storage facilities of its artifact collection. Base Bid work includes B14 roof repairs and site/civil drainage upgrades. Base Bid work includes B15 roof repairs, upgrade exterior man door and overhead door, additional duplex outlets and upgraded LED lighting, upgraded fencing, and relocate/remove existing cages/fencing. Option work includes additional museum spaces for artifact processing, quarantine, macro storage, conservation and other types of primary functions. The Design must comply with requirements are outlined in FC 4-760-10N and OPNAVINST 5755.1 All structures contain Hazardous Materials that must be surveyed, sampled, tested, designed for, abated and properly disposed of under this contract.
