- Description
- Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) Code requires nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E) services to include ultrasonic testing (UT) and potentially liquid penetrant testing (PT) inspection to support production of a new class of unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV). The UUVs will be fabricated predominantly from thick (<6-inch) aluminum alloy (AA) forgings of AA 7175-T74, though some AA 6061-T6 (forged) and AA 7175 (plate) will also be incorporated into the final structure. Inspection of components in the finish machined and anodized condition is required after hydrostatic testing is complete. In addition, nondestructive testing and evaluation services to inspect anodized and coated component mock-ups, to determine limitations, if any, for support of in-service inspection of components is required. A number of tasks for inspection services are required
