16 March 2022 Statement of Work Cart Washer for Sterile Processing Service John D. Dingell VA Medical Center Overview: The cart washer in the Sterile Processing Area requires upgrading. The current system breaks down frequently causing delays in returning clean case carts to the distribution system. The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required Equipment Requirement: Installation of one (1) 9128-E Cart Washer or equivalent Sterling Cart Washer System that has steam heated Versions. One (1) Part # XZWA000763 INST. Kit CW+HW+D/W, ST. Part # MP224 Kit for Alarm for 9100 & 9027 audible and visual alarm add-on kit for 9100/9027 series washing-disinfectors to indicate cycle completion. Part # D020021 MP197, Condensate Cooling Tank for 9100 washer-disinfectors. Part # ZSUS15610-IR-9100E Install/Remove 9100E CW. Contractor Will: 1.Provide infection control barriers for the duration of the work being completed per ICRA Barriers will include one hard wall, floor to ceiling with wide doors located in the hallway of the cart washer exit area between entrance door to LL602 and the cart washer. Other barriers include a barrier over the door to the laser room across from the exit side of the cart washer, a barrier over the access panel in LL602, and barrier in the DECON room covering the entrance section of the washer. Infection Control barriers will be in compliance with the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) permit per government issue procedures during awarding process. 2. Remove and dispose of the existing cart washer. Cover existing cart washer with plastic after removal and during transport out of SPS and VA Medical Center to prevent contamination of areas as it is stored or transported for disposal. 3. Install the following equipment to manufacturer specifications: o One (1) 9128-E Cart Washer. Installation as noted above shall include: Uncrating of all equipment and accessories listed on Disposal of all shipping material c. Final assembly (if required) of all equipment noted above 4. Transportation of all equipment from the loading dock (or secured storage area) to its final destination 5. Set and level all equipment in the equipment pit 6. Contractor will provide new stainless steel stands for the equipment legs due to the depth of the pit. 7. Configure and test all settings and options 8. Completion of all final connections of cold, hot, RO, Steam, Exhaust, and Electric a. Hot Water Shall be connected utilizing flexible hoses without work to the existing utility b. Cold Water Shall be connected utilizing flexible hoses without work to the existing utility § RO Water Shall be connected utilizing flexible hoses without work to the existing utility § Steam - Shall be connected utilizing flexible hoses without work to the existing utility § Exhaust To be cut back and relocated to the new unit s location. Contractor to use stainless steel in accordance with its specifications for the new exhaust duct. § Electric Contractor shall provide a new transformer and re-use the existing whip supplying the existing cart washer. Contractor to run new electrical from the cart washer to the transformer using seal tight. 9. Contractor shall conduct and complete electrical safety tests on all installed equipment as defined by the equipment manufacturer Contract shall conduct a final commissioning of the product by a certified equipment technician Contractor shall set up all accessories (wash carts, trolleys, MP-Kits, Scissor Lifts, etc) listed within Q-00063729 10. Contractor shall provide an equipment lull for the offloading of equipment 11. Contractor shall provide a storage solution in an empty bay of the dock for staging of equipment during the installation period to avoid equipment being secured in the dock/warehouse on site. 12. Contractor shall fabricate and install new stainless steel access panels on the clean side and dirty side of the unit. Stainless steel included in the scope of this project are the previously mentioned stands for the pit, trim to enclose the difference in height from the cart washer panels to ceiling, a return between the equipment panel and the block wall on the clean side of the department. 13. Contractor shall provide all construction rough-in documentation and submittal package for each piece of equipment listed above. 14. Contractor shall provide training material and quick guides provided for End-Users. 15.. Contractor shall conduct in-service prior to Scheduled Opening Date (SOD). Service Requirements: Vendor shall install the cart washer as turnkey meeting all government requirements to include the installation of water, drain, and electricity. Vendor will provide labor resources for installation as well as any materials to uncrate, install, hook up, etc. to complete installation to full operational use. Vendor shall complete all installation including any renovation to floor, wall, power, exhaust, etc. that is required to install cart washer to become fully operational. Vendor shall ensure that after installation, quality and operational checks and tests are completed. Any necessary adjustments will be accomplished to satisfactorily meet regulatory decontamination requirements prior to use. Vendor shall be responsible for cleanup and removal of packing material, crates, debris, an remove and dispose of old cart washer Vendor shall be responsible for the erecting and removal of an Infection Control barrier via an Infection Control Request Authorization (ICRA) meeting all infection control service government requirements. Vendor shall provide demonstration of proper equipment use to SPS staff and leadership. Vendor will provide educational material on operational use of the cart washer. Vendor will work with SPS leadership to schedule installation that minimizes down time of operations including but not limited to evening and weekend installation.
