Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. SOURCES SOUGHT DESCRIPTION This is NOT a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought/RFI only. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 339112. Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 5 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources that can provide Maxi Move Mobile Passive Patient Lifts for the Baltimore, MD VA Medical Center. The information identified above is intended to be descriptive, not restrictive and to indicate the quality of the supplies/services that will be satisfactory. It is the responsibility of the interested source to demonstrate to the government that the interested parties can provide the supplies/services that fulfill the required specifications. Responses to this notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. STATEMENT OF WORK AND GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR Maxi Move Mobile Passive Patient Lifts Project Scope: Floor lifts will be utilized in 6 of A&ECCC Outpatient Clinical Care areas. These lifts are needed for safe patient handling and to assist if a patient falls or in the event of an emergency. Salient Characteristics: Sit-to-stand lift must be usable with clip-based slings including ARJO MFA3000 disposable slings. Sit-to-stand lift must be motorized. Sit-to-stand lift must include an integrated scale that functions up to its full capacity. Sit-to-stand lift must include a charger and two batteries to allow battery replacement whenever necessary. Sit-to-stand lift must be no more than 27 wide with legs closed. Sit-to-stand lift must have legs that widen to at least 40 wide. Legs must be able to be raised, lowered, widened, and narrowed using electrical controls. Scale must read out on hand control and must not require separate batteries. Sit-to-stand lift must have emergency stop and emergency lowering controls. Sit-to-stand lifts must hold a minimum capacity of 500 pounds and be able to handle patients who can hold on with at least one hand, bear weight on at least one leg, and follow instructions. Sit-to-stand lifts must include a single, wipeable belt to keep legs on the lifts. Leg support must be flexible to accommodate variation in position and leg placement.   This contract includes only goods and requires no contractor services and no data; therefore no security clause is required.
