Description
The RFP shows four (4) coils but there are really five (5) coils found during last week s site visit. Are all five being replaced? Answer: Yes, all five coils are to be replaced. The SOW was updated to demonstrate the new coil count. Expedited fabrication charges were requested. 10 days fabrication? Answer: The POP is to complete all work 45 days from Notice to proceed. The contractor shall determine the appropriate amount of expedited time needed to support his schedule. For AHU-1, are we insulating piping that is not insulated currently? The RFP says replace any damaged insulation. It doesn t specify missing insulation. Answer: The contractor shall replace only the missing sections of the insulation. New insulation shall match existing or close and equal to performance. The RFP does not bring attention replacing coil drip pans. Is there anything to be done to the current drip pans? Sealing, etc.? Answer: Drip pans for cooling coils is standard and shall be included part of the system. Please ensure to include this with the newly installed cooling coils. Area 2F, AHU-15 the scope calls to replace 1 of 2 coils in the AHU. Is the coil to be replaced the top or bottom coil? Replacing one coil may involve completely removing the other, especially if the bottom coil is to be replaced. Answer: All five coils are to be replaced. The SOW was updated to demonstrate the new coil count. The scope calls for vibration checks, and coil pressure drop testing. Please clarify if this is to be performed by a certified third-party testing and balancing contractor? Answer: Vibration checks are specific to ensuring contractor did not cause the blower fan out of alignment or specifications. Pressure drop test can be demonstrated with the newly installed gauges. Contractor will be in charge for ensuring flow is present in the new coil. Can you please provide the StartUpChecklist document it was not provided with the rest of the solicitation documents, or we were unable to find it. Answer: See attachment StartUpChecklist AHU-1 GF piping is partially insulated with ½ ArmaFlex and partially uninsulated above an adjacent AHU. Please specify the insulation type for replacement insulation. Answer: The contractor shall replace only the missing sections of the insulation. New insulation shall match existing or close and equal to performance. Coils are available with lead time options that have considerable and differing associated costs. For example, a 10-day, 25-day or 45-day lead time may be available. Please give guidance as to the desired lead time for coil production. Answer: The POP is to complete all work 45 days from Notice to proceed. The contractor shall determine the appropriate amount of expedited time needed to support his schedule.
