- The Department of Veterans Affairs Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street Boulevard Erie, PA 16504, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources to provide a rotary microtome per statement of need. Submitting information for this announcement is voluntary and VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice. If a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. The purpose of this market research is to identify capable sources that are both experienced and qualified to provide rotary microtome per statement of need. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 334516. Based on this information, please indicate whether your company would be a large or small business. Limitations on Subcontracting and non-manufacturing rule will apply to the resulting solicitation. Technical Data and Documentation: Companies are invited to provide their equipment specifications, warranty information, and manufacturer details. Information regarding your company s capabilities to provide such services are to be submitted electronically on or before Friday, 04/29/2022 by 3:00 PM (EST) addressed to McDaniel Brayboy III, email mcdaniel.brayboy@va.gov Statement of need: End-User/Facility POC: Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, Histology Department, Bernadette Hall, Supervisor Acquisition Utilization Specialist: Scott Burick Background: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Erie VA Medical Center, has a requirement for a rotary microtome that allows end users to select automated, semi-automated or manual sectioning modes. Ancillary add-on features necessary to operate the rotary microtome, to include foot switch and power cord, are also required. It is the intent of the Erie PA VA Medical Center to purchase one automated rotary microtomes to use in the preparation of tissue samples obtained from Veteran patients. This preparation is necessary to produce diagnostic slides for review by P&LMS Pathologists for diagnostic purposes.
